Projector Situation for the auditorium is being investigated by Chad, Dan Wrigglesworth, and Mark Cook. This group will deal with all the necessary needs.
Server Rack we received from the IRS is not currently being used. There was discussion about the location of the server room. Networking equipment is touchy. Chad questioned as to whether there is room in the basement of the blue house. Wayne and Chad discussed that option. Lynn said there is some room, but it is musty and there is a dehumidifier running. Internet would need to be re-wired by Time Warner. Wayne also said there is a closet in the Arts and Science building. (The furnace room) Wayne is not concerned with musty, just humidity. Lynn will work with Wayne and Chad to determine the best space to relocate the server. If the ideal space is found, Wayne would like to look into the situation in detail. No move would take place until summer. It is not to be thrown away or sold until something is decided by this committee.
Turnitin.com has become an immediate need. A quote was requested and Gail will look into the details of the order. Quotes have been received for software. It will be ordered.
Maintenance schedule was discussed. List of tasks should be generated. This would be an IT person either on staff or part time. There needs to be a “needs analysis” – printer, pc and mac maint. Gail, Dave Stehlin, and Lynnette will work on creating that list. Wayne suggested an “intern” as an option. Jon asked if there might be a “sample” needs analysis. Chad suggested we come up with 15 questions and put it into survey gizmo. Gail is the POC on this committee. An IT teacher might be the ideal situation.
Power supplies for IRS computers have been installed in a few. They seem to be working well. We bought 10 and 2 have been installed. Gail will take care of this within the next few weeks. Chad suggested we replace our “back up” power supplies when we get down to 3. Gail will notify Lynn and she will order them.
Gail will e mail the IRS connection to see where we stand in receiving newer computers. We will then make a plan depending on the outcome.
Wireless access points were discussed. Wireless interent access points should be on the next agenda. DBA is the company (Chris Burke) Accessium uses. Wayne will ask him to come out and give us a quote on upgrading our system. Question as to whether or not there are blueprints.
Jon will send out the annual Report information to us all.
Lynnette distributed out a guideline the IT Rubric. Any changes or suggestions are welcome. Take a look at this and be prepared to further discuss the rubric. The person requesting the software/hardware should be completing the rubric. Get back to Lynnette prior to next meeting with any changes/updates/suggestions you might like to see.
Requests for software/hardware will be submitted by filling forms and following the guidelines. Gail, Lynnette, and Dave will work on the details.

- I'm not familiar with phone conferencing unfortunately, it's not computer or networking specific.
Call Jeannie and make an assessment of her technical abilities:
- I called Jeannie Concklin and spoke to her twice today.
- She worked at an insurance company back when Windows was first starting. She understands how to build computers and sets up home networks (wired and wireless). She has an aptitude for computers, she doesn’t want to go ahead and figure something she hasn’t done out. She understands drivers and how hardware communicates through the OS using them. She has experience in upgrading RAM and she’s comfortable with the hard part.
- For software and network communications to the server, she's not familiar with this as much. She would need to be coached through most of the concerns I can think of with mapping drives, printers, shares and such which in a sence is good as nobody should be working on that as their are severe consequences if mistakes are made.

- He met Lynette today. They want to bring the Airport out where the Lab printer is. They’ll need to terminated the 6 cut cables which would plug into an 8 - 16 port switch we can quote for the school.
